At Atlas Logistic Network, Lyanne exemplifies the perfect balance of leadership and expertise. Since 2015, she has been a key force behind our operations as Managing Director.
We sat down with Lyanne to discuss her journey into the industry, the "night shift" she tackles after work, and the classic cars that fuel her passion for adventure.
Leadership and Logistics Roots
Lyanne, thank you for sitting down with us. Can you introduce yourself and your role to those who might be new to the network?
My name is Lyanne, and I am currently in the position of Managing Director. My role is really about oversight; I keep tabs on the operations and coordinate everything behind the scenes—even the small things that people might not notice immediately.
You have been with us for quite some time now. When did your journey here begin?
Lyanne: I started my journey here back in 2015. It’s hard to believe it’s been that long already, but it means I've had the pleasure of being part of this team for several years now.
Logistics is often a family affair for many people. Was that the case for you?
Lyanne: Yes, exactly. I got into logistics and this industry through my parents and my brother. It was a natural path for me to take given my family's involvement.
As Managing Director, you have a lot of responsibility. What keeps you motivated to perform at your best every day?
Lyanne: My team. They are my main motivation. Working alongside dedicated people makes all the difference.
Building Global Bridges
A big part of your job involves interacting with our members. What do you enjoy most about that aspect of your work?
Lyanne: I love the relationships that you build with people around the globe. It feels special to get in touch with all the different cultures, food, and people. It makes the world feel smaller and more connected.
Is there something about your daily work that people might be surprised to know?
Lyanne: People might not realize just how much coordination happens in the background. My job is to keep tabs on everything, ensuring that even the smallest details are handled correctly so that the network functions seamlessly for everyone.
Life in the Fast Lane (and the Quiet Lane)
Managing a global network is demanding. What is the first thing you do when you log off for the day?
Lyanne: I drive home—haha! And then, I am immediately in the thick of the "night shift" with the kids. With two kids under two, it’s all about food, clean diapers, and the sleep routine. There isn't much downtime immediately after work!
Once the "night shift" is over, how do you finally recharge?
Lyanne: It depends on the season. During the winter, I like to have a hot cup of rosehip tea. In the summer, I love just sitting outside with my e-reader. It’s the quiet moments that help me reset.
We heard you have a passion for cars. Can you tell us about that?
Lyanne: Yes! I have an old-timer Triumph. I love cars, and my husband and I like to participate in rallies. It’s a great passion to share. Besides that, I also LOVE classical music. It keeps me rooted, especially during difficult times.
That is a fascinating mix of hobbies! If you hadn't gone into logistics, what career path do you think you would have taken?
Lyanne: That’s an easy one! My husband is a talented pastry chef. If I hadn't chosen this path in logistics, I am quite sure we would have started our own pastry business together about 12 years ago. It would have been a completely different adventure, but one I'm sure we would have loved.
